Very Active years

So Marshall got back in the game of life. He got involved in baseball again. As coach and umpire in his hometown of Bensalem, Pa.

"I started years ago, but they still remember me taking my leg off for a break, then trying to get myself a cup of coffee in the club house - hopping around spilliing it everywhere. Then I figured out how to walk on my knees and didn't spill as much."

So when he's not building new legs for young people, he's helping them build character and sportsmanship on the playing fields. He's involved with Babe Ruth Leage baseball in both the new Cal Ripken Division for 10-12 year olds and also with the 17-18 year old league.

He's at the ball park, one way or another just about every night of the week. But still as time to be a world class athlete in the world of adaptive sports.

Soccer, too...

Backin 1997 Dave also discovered amputee soccer, and immediately played his way to a starting position on the USA National Team.

Dave played defense in the 1998 Amputee Soccer World Cup held in Manchester, England; and in the Eurpopean Championships last August in Kiev, Ukraine.

And at the ago of 47 he's been been named to the team again to play in the 2000 Amputee Socer World Cup scheduled for Seattle this Fall.

"But I'm not the oldest guy on the team," he insists. "We've got a guy out in Washngton who's still playing at 56."
